Mary Kinross Park Fenced Dog Park

Mary Kinross Park sits on the southern edge of Bargara along Woongarra Scenic Drive, and its drawcard is a fully fenced off-leash area set inside a wide stretch of coastal parkland beside the tidal Rifle Range Creek estuary. If you want a secure space to let a dog run without worrying about the road, this is the pick at this end of town.

The rules. Dogs can be off-leash only inside the fenced enclosure. Everywhere else in the park, including the car park and the walking paths, they must be on-leash. Keep your dog under voice control, clean up after it (bins are provided), and leave aggressive dogs and females in season at home.

What's there. The enclosure has secure perimeter fencing, and the wider park adds sheltered picnic tables, barbecues, public toilets and an accessible car park. It also adjoins the Rifle Range Creek walking paths, so you can add an on-leash loop before or after a run. Shade is patchy, so bring your own water bowl.

Getting there. It is about five minutes by car from central Bargara, with a large on-site car park. The park connects to the Coral Coast pathway network and a pedestrian bridge over Rifle Range Creek, so cyclists and walkers can reach it easily. Direct public transport to the entrance is limited, so most people drive.

Nearby with the dogs. The Windmill Cafe on See Street welcomes dogs in its outdoor area, and Bargara Beach Bakehouse and Rocklatino Caffe both offer pet-friendly outdoor seating in town.

When to go. Weekday mornings before 8am and late afternoons are busiest with locals. For a quieter run, aim for mid-morning or early afternoon on a weekday. Good for dogs that need a proper fenced sprint.
