Discovery Parks - Bargara is a large, well-reviewed coastal caravan park within walking distance of the Bargara beachfront, and it takes dogs in selected accommodation. Weight and size limits are not clearly published, so check directly if you have a large dog or more than one. Book the designated pet-friendly cabin or site type rather than assuming any unit will do; the rest of the accommodation does not take dogs.

Close by with the dogs

Bargara's foreshore walking path runs along the beach near the park, on-lead for the most part. For off-lead time, the Bargara Off Leash Dog Park and the fenced enclosure at Mary Kinross Park at the southern end of town are the council-designated spots. Check the Bundaberg Regional Council dogs-on-beaches maps before hitting the sand: zones vary between on-lead and prohibited along the foreshore. Note that Mon Repos, just up the coast, bans domestic animals entirely to protect the turtle nesting season.
