Collie River Walk

The Collie River Walk is an easy, mostly flat loop beside the river in Collie, crossing the Swinging Bridge on the way. Dogs are allowed on a lead, as on all the Shire's urban trails.

Lead rules

The Shire of Collie requires dogs on lead on public trails and in parks unless an area is designated for off-lead exercise.

The walk

The track is well marked, on a mix of paved and gravel surfaces. Mature trees and riverside bush give plenty of shade, and there are picnic spots along the way.

The river is reachable in places, including near Minninup Pool, where a dog can cool off. There are few drinking fountains, so bring fresh water.

Getting started

Start from Soldiers Park or Minninup Pool, both with parking and bins. Soldiers Park also has toilets and picnic areas.

Pepsi: Minninup Pool is the place for a cool-down paddle. Pack a towel for the ride home.

Flat ground and good shade make it a comfortable walk through most of the year, and a kind one for older dogs.
