Lake Claremont Circuit

The Lake Claremont Circuit loops a seasonal lake in Claremont, on the Mount Claremont border. Its big draw is a signed off-lead dog exercise zone, recently expanded by the Town of Claremont.

Leads and the off-lead zone

Dogs can run off-lead inside the designated exercise zones. Outside them, on the rest of the circuit, your dog must be on a lead.

The zone boundaries are signed on site, so check them as you go rather than assuming the whole lake is open.

The walk

A smooth dual-use path, paved in parts, carries you around the lake. You pass through bushland that is full of birds, often with black swans on the water, and alongside a nine-hole golf course.

Max: Swans and golf balls both deserve respect. Keep the lead on near the water's edge and along the course.

The lake is seasonal, so it looks different through the year. Bring water for the dog in summer.
