Deli Chicchi

Deli Chicchi is the neighbourhood cafe at the Mount Claremont Village shops, at 29 Strickland Street, and it is the local stop for a sit-down coffee with your dog beside you rather than a grab-and-go cup. Dogs are welcome on the undercover patio out the front, where the alfresco tables sit on the veranda with room for a dog to settle in.

Staff are welcoming to canine regulars and will usually bring out a water bowl, though on a busy morning it pays to ask. This is a proper local deli-cafe with a relaxed neighbourhood feel. The kitchen turns out fresh breakfast plates, eggs benedict and hash browns, hand cut chips, croissants, and a sunday roast that gives the place a weekend pull. Free sparkling water on the counter, casual service, and coffee that keeps locals coming back. Doors open from 7am Tuesday through Sunday, closing mid afternoon, so it is a breakfast-and-lunch spot rather than a dinner option.

The cafe sits in the Mount Claremont Village shopping centre car park, which offers ample free parking directly out front, and sidewalk access makes it an easy walk-in stop if you live locally.

Make a day of it
