M7 to M12 Shared User Path

Opened in March 2026, the M7 to M12 Shared User Path runs 2.3 kilometres one way through Western Sydney Parklands at Cecil Hills and Cecil Park. Dogs are welcome, but on lead for the whole length.

The walk

This is a wide concrete path, built to handle the rolling ground, that links the M7 and M12 corridors and joins the wider parklands trail network. It is a there-and-back walk, not a loop.

Along the way you pass near the Wylde mountain bike and BMX tracks, the Gabrugal Yana cultural site and big open views across the parklands.

Lead rules

Greater Sydney Parklands asks for dogs on lead and under control on the path, which is shared with bikes. Off-lead play belongs in designated areas such as Shale Hills Dog Park.

Max: Riders come through fast near the bike tracks. Keep the lead short and stay left.

Make a day of it

Stop for a coffee at Mili & Co. Cafe or add a lap of Gough Park.

There is little shade on an open, new path, so go early in summer and carry water.
