Bulimba Creek Bikeway

Following Bulimba Creek through Brisbane's east, the Bulimba Creek Bikeway runs through Carindale and close to Carina under a thick tree canopy. It is a shared path, and dogs stay on lead the entire way.

Lead rules

Brisbane City Council manages the bikeway, and dogs must be leashed on the shared path at all times. Nearby parks such as Minnippi Parklands may have their own designated off-leash zones.

The walk

The path is paved concrete, so it stays clean underfoot. It winds beside the creek through open parkland, with dense shade over many sections.

Keep an eye out for turtles and waterbirds along the water. They are part of the appeal, and a good reason to keep the lead short.

Max: Bikes use this path at speed. Walk on the left and keep your dog close when you hear a bell.

Make a day of it

Link the walk with Minnippi Parklands, or finish at the Joe Bradfield Centre Park Fenced Dog Park in Carina for a proper off-lead run.

When to go

The creekside shade makes it a comfortable choice on warm days, though early is still best.
