Callicoma Walk

Callicoma Walk is a 5.1 kilometre bushwalk out of Cherrybrook, named for the black wattle along its creeks. It is graded moderate, takes about three hours, and allows dogs on lead.

Lead rules

Hornsby Shire Council requires dogs on a lead at all times and on the marked track.

The walk

The walk runs through quiet bush corridors near the Lakes of Cherrybrook, with several creek crossings. The ground is unsealed and can be loose or slippery, with sloping sections.

Council advises against the walk on Total Fire Ban days. Bring water for you and the dog.

Max: The creek crossings and loose ground can be slippery. Shorten the lead and let your dog pick its footing.

Make a day of it

For off-lead play afterwards, Greenway Park Fenced Dog Park is nearby. The Pyes Creek swing bridge makes another short bush outing.

It suits fit dogs that are sure-footed and happy on uneven ground. Go on a cool, dry day, not after heavy rain and not on a fire ban day.
