Butters Management Trail

Butters Management Trail crosses the Molonglo River on Butters Bridge, linking Coombs and Denman Prospect through the Molonglo River Reserve. It is an unsealed management track, and dogs must stay on a lead.

Lead rules

Parks ACT manages the reserve, and dogs are allowed only on a lead, at all times. There is no off-lead section along the trail.

As a nature reserve it is home to native wildlife, so keep the lead short and the dog on the track.

The walk

The surface is formed dirt and gravel, typical of the fire and management tracks in Canberra's reserves.

Along the way you pass a Nature Play Space and the Bugang Events terrace before the river crossing and the views from the bridge.

Make a day of it

Grab a coffee at EightyTwenty Coombs afterwards, or head on to Stromlo Forest Park for more trails.

When to go

Cooler mornings are the pick for a longer reserve walk. Pack water for the dog.
