South Pine River Walk

River bends, bushland and a chance for a paddle make the South Pine River Walk a favourite between Eatons Hill and Bunya. Dogs walk it on a leash at all times.

Lead rules

The City of Moreton Bay manages the corridor. Leads stay on, even when dogs wade or swim in the designated reserve water sections.

Dogs are not allowed inside Kumbartcho Sanctuary, so stick to the riverside paths around it.

The walk

Expect natural dirt, gravel and unsealed bush track rather than pavement. The route passes through Bunya Crossing Reserve, with riparian vegetation and the South Pine River alongside.

Shade comes from mature trees along the river. Bins and water points are in the nearby council parks rather than on the track, so carry water.

Make a day of it

For an off-lead run, Sargent Reserve Fenced Dog Park is in Eatons Hill. Which Craft Beer in Albany Creek is there for afterwards.

It suits dogs that love water and don't mind dirt underfoot. Bring a towel for the car after a wade.
