Bunya Crossing Reserve

Bunya Crossing Reserve follows a bend of the South Pine River on the Bunya side of Eatons Hill. Dogs stay on lead, but they can still wade into the river, which is the whole point on a hot day.

Lead rules

The City of Moreton Bay manages the reserve, and leads are required on the tracks and throughout the reserve. Fines apply for dogs off lead outside a designated off-lead area.

The walk

The tracks are dirt, gravel and grass, fairly flat but uneven in places. They run beside the river through native bush full of birdlife.

Tall casuarinas shade much of the way. At the bend there are rock pools and a sandy, pebbly edge where a leashed dog can splash and cool off.

Pepsi: A river walk that ends with a paddle! A long lead lets your dog reach the shallows while you keep it clipped on.

Getting there

The car park is off the Dugandan Road approach and fills quickly on weekends and warm days. There are water taps, bins, barbecues, picnic tables and accessible toilets.

Pair it with

White Horse Ranch in Albany Creek is a short drive away for lunch.

Arrive early on summer weekends to get a park and the river before the crowds.
