Botany Bay Foreshore

The Botany Bay foreshore path along Foreshore Beach is all about the view: open water, sea breeze and cargo ships heading into Port Botany. Dogs are welcome, but on lead the whole way.

Lead rules

Bayside Council requires dogs to stay on a leash on the foreshore path and on Foreshore Beach at all times. Off-lead running is not allowed on the sand or near the restricted port zones.

The walk

A flat, paved shared path for walkers and cyclists runs beside the beach, so you can swap between firm ground and a stroll on the sand. Keep dogs close when bikes come through.

Bins line the path and sit near the parking bays. Shade comes and goes, with long stretches in full sun.

Bubblers turn up along parts of the foreshore and nearby park paths, but carry a bowl anyway. Off-street parking is plentiful along Foreshore Road.

The flat path suits older dogs and easy daily walks. On hot days, go early or late, since shade is patchy.
