High Street Reserve Fenced Dog Park

High Street Reserve is a fully fenced, 24/7 off-leash dog park in the heart of Mascot, with two separate enclosures and double-gated airlock entries so you can settle your dog before the gate opens. The two-yard split is the reason to come here: one side for big, boisterous dogs, one for small or timid ones.

The rules. Off-leash access runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week under Bayside Council. Dogs must stay under effective voice control and in sight at all times, and leashes go back on through the airlock on the way in and out. Maximum four dogs per person, and any dog showing aggression must be leashed and removed. Council registration applies, as it does across NSW.

What's there. There is a water fountain with an attached bowl, unshaded bench seating inside the fence, and bag dispensers with bins. Bring your own bags as backup, and note there are no public toilets on site. Shade is limited, so this is not the spot for a long midday session in summer.

Getting there. The park sits at 316 King Street. Parking is street-only along King Street and nearby roads, and it fills through the day given the commercial traffic in the area, so allow time on weekday mornings. Mascot station on the T8 Airport and South Line is a reasonable walk, with buses running along Botany Road.

The two-yard trick. If the main yard is chaotic when you arrive, use the smaller enclosure to let a nervous dog watch and settle before joining in.

When to go. It gets busy on weekday mornings around 7 to 8:30, again from 4:30 to 6:30, and on weekend mornings. Mid-morning and early afternoon on weekdays are the quiet windows. Good for social dogs and for owners of small dogs who want a separate space away from the rough and tumble.
