Sydenham Green Fenced Dog Park is a large, fully fenced, off-leash area in Sydney's Inner West, open 24 hours with good lighting for early morning or after-dark visits. It sits within the wider Sydenham Green reserve at 53 Railway Road, right next to Sydenham Station.

The rules. Dogs must be on-leash until inside the fenced enclosure, then it is off-leash within the fence. Owners are expected to supervise at all times, and there is no fixed time restriction, this park is off-leash around the clock. Poop bags are not always stocked at the bin stations, so bring your own.

What's there. The fenced play zone is large enough for a proper run and has a double-gated entry so dogs cannot bolt while you're getting the leash off. Two water stations are on site, and there is covered seating for owners. The broader Sydenham Green park also has a playground, skate park, and picnic and barbecue areas if you're making a longer stop.

Getting there. Sydenham Station is a short walk away, making this one of the more train-accessible dog parks in the Inner West. Street parking on the surrounding roads is limited, so factor in a short walk if you're driving at busy times.

The park sits under a flight path, so expect regular low jet noise. Nervous dogs may find this unsettling even if the fenced area itself is calm.

Early mornings and early evenings after work are the busiest windows, when the fenced area fills with regulars and their dogs. If your dog prefers a quieter run, mid-week the middle of the day is a safer bet. Good for social, confident dogs that enjoy a crowd, less ideal for noise-sensitive ones given the aircraft overhead.
