Blind Bight Foreshore Reserve

Blind Bight Foreshore Reserve is 35.5 hectares of coastal bushland, salt marsh and mangroves on Western Port Bay, in the coastal town of Blind Bight rather than Lynbrook. It is an on-lead nature walk, and the birdlife is the reason to come.

Lead rules

The City of Casey manages the reserve and requires dogs on a lead. It also keeps them on the tracks and out of the fragile salt marsh.

The walk

Tracks are natural earth, dirt and sand, winding through coastal bush, salt marsh and mangrove zones. Indigenous wildflowers line the way in season, with open views across Western Port Bay.

Parking is near the main entry, and bins are along the paths. Water is limited, so bring a bottle and a bowl.

Native trees give some shade, but parts of the track are open to sun and wind.

When to go

Cool mornings suit it best, before the open sections warm up and while the sea breeze is fresh. It suits calm, lead-trained dogs that enjoy a sniff more than a sprint.
