Casey Fields Dog Park

Casey Fields Dog Park is a large fenced off-leash park inside the Casey Fields sporting precinct in Cranbourne East, and it draws owners from across Melbourne's outer south-east. The combination of real running room, a separate small dog section and solid fencing makes it one of the more complete dog parks in the City of Casey.

The dog setup

The enclosure is fully fenced with a double-gated entry, so there is a safe holding zone to clip and unclip leads without a dog slipping out. Inside, the terrain mixes open grass with mounds, exposed rocks and a large sandpit, which keeps diggers and climbers busy. Wire frame tunnels add some basic agility for dogs that want a bit more structure to their run.

A separate section for small dogs means the main area stays a full-speed space for bigger breeds. A water feature and taps keep dogs hydrated, though carrying your own collapsible bowl is still the reliable move. For the humans there is a covered picnic table, extra seating and waste bins at the exits.

Max: the elevated mounds give you a clear line of sight across the whole park, which makes supervising a fast dog far easier than in a flat enclosure.

This is a social park with a regular crowd, and group play sessions are common, so it suits dogs that are comfortable around others. Keep your dog in sight, skip the visit if your dog guards toys, and take an aggressive dog out promptly. The sandpit drains well after rain but the grassed areas can hold water, so expect a muddier dog in winter.

The park sits within the broader Casey Fields precinct at Cranbourne East, with dedicated parking for the precinct and simple access off the surrounding arterial roads. Because the wider precinct hosts sport on weekends, the car park is busier then; weekday mornings are the calm window.

Make a day of it

If you want a change of scene, the Selandra Rise Fenced Dog Park in Clyde North is a more compact option that suits a quick social session, while Trueman Reserve Dog Off Leash Area in Cranbourne West adds an agility track and water bowls.
