Pet policy
Dogs must be on lead the whole way along the shared-use trail. Policy set by The Barossa Council.
Vineyards line the sealed path where the Barossa Trail passes through Rowland Flat, part of a network of more than 40 km linking Lyndoch, Tanunda, Nuriootpa and Angaston. Dogs are allowed on lead the whole way.
Lead rules
The Barossa Council requires dogs on lead along its shared-use trails and roadside corridors. Cyclists use the path too, so keep your dog close.
The walk
The surface is sealed bitumen, easy for older dogs and short legs. Rows of vines, historic cellar doors and rolling hills line the way.
From Rowland Flat you can head north towards Tanunda and turn back whenever your dog has had enough.

When to go
Summer afternoons get hot between the vines, so walk early and bring water for the dog.
