Jasmine Lakeside Village (formerly Mecca Village)

Jasmine Lakeside Village, formerly Mecca Village, is a family-owned holiday and lifestyle park on 17 bush-fringed acres at Wyee Point, on the southwest shore of Lake Macquarie. It allows pets, but generally limits guests to one small dog, so it is best suited to travellers with a single compact companion rather than a pair of large breeds.

Dogs at the park

The park is pet-friendly with conditions, subject to management approval. Sites are generally restricted to one small dog per guest, leads stay on within the park boundaries, and you need to pick up immediately after your dog. There are no on-site pet water stations mentioned, so bring your own bowls and supplies. The policy on pet-friendly cabins versus powered and unpowered sites is not spelled out online, so call (02) 4359 1248 before booking and get the pet conditions confirmed in writing, including whether your dog is allowed inside the cabin itself or only on site accommodation.

The place

It is a flat, easy-access park combining tourist sites with a permanent residential community. Facilities include two swimming pools, BBQ areas, a boat ramp for launching onto the lake, a half-court tennis court, a snooker table and a log-cabin games room. The bush and lakefront setting gives you lakeshore paths inside the village for straightforward on-leash walks without leaving the park, and parking sits adjacent to your site or cabin.

Getting there and parking

The park is at 71 Ruttleys Road, Wyee Point, roughly 10 to 15 minutes off the M1 via the Wyee or Morisset turn-off, and about an hour from Sydney or Newcastle.

Nearby with the dogs

For a bigger run, Budgewoi dog beach is the closest dedicated off-leash beach on this side of the lake, and Morisset dog exercise area is on the route inland. Bodyfuel Cafe in Morisset is the listed dog-friendly coffee stop.
