Woodgate Beach Houses

Woodgate Beach Houses is a small complex of self-contained bungalows at 151/152 Esplanade, directly across the road from Woodgate Beach in the Bundaberg region. It takes one dog per unit, but only in designated pet-friendly houses, and the venue's own Bring Your Dog page sets out rules that are stricter than most listings.

Dogs at the Beach Houses

One dog up to 10 kilograms is allowed, dogs only, with assistance dogs exempt. You must select and pay the Pet Hygiene fee during booking to be allocated a pet-friendly room or studio; third-party listings cite around AUD 20 per stay, but check the direct booking portal for the current rate. Dogs stay on a lead at all times outside, cannot be left unattended in the unit at any time, are kept strictly off beds and couches, and owners are responsible for all clean-up. There are no fenced yards on the property, so toileting happens on lead.

The place

The bungalows are two-bedroom units with full kitchens, and the complex has two outdoor pools for the humans. Units generally have their own courtyard or balcony, useful for settling a dog without going through shared indoor space. Free guest parking is on site. Bring your own bowls, as none are mentioned as supplied.

The beach and the Esplanade

The beach is across the road, and Bundaberg Regional Council designates a 24-hour off-leash zone on the foreshore from a point 50 m south of the most southerly pedestrian access down to 200 m north of the Burrum River entrance; the central Esplanade stretch stays on-lead. Read the transition signage before unclipping. The Esplanade also gives long, flat lead walking in both directions.

Pepsi: no fenced yards here, so the beach walk is the exercise plan. Check where the off-leash zone starts before you let anyone off lead.
