The vibe

This is a quiet country villa stay: wood combustion heating, wine by the fire, large rooms, a well-regarded kitchen and breakfast provisions with a farm feel. The drawcards after dark are stargazing, sunsets and the distant trains. It works for couples travelling with a dog or bigger groups who want the whole house to themselves.

Getting there and parking

Turn off the Augusta Highway onto Delamere Road at Warnertown; the farmhouse sits back from the road with ample off-street parking. The drive from Adelaide runs about two hours, and Port Pirie is 12 kilometres away for supplies and vet backup.

The rural roads around Warnertown are quiet for on-lead walks, and Nelshaby Reserve nearby has an easy two-kilometre trail with views to the Southern Flinders and Spencer Gulf. On-lead parks in Port Pirie are 10 to 15 minutes away.
