The dog setup

Only dogs are accepted, and the pet-friendly allocation is limited, so request approval in advance and book the right room type rather than assuming any cabin will do.

A pet surcharge applies, in line with Discovery Parks' standard rate of around $20 per dog per night, so confirm the fee for your dates when booking. In the park, dogs stay on a leash in all common areas, sleep in their own bedding off the beds and furniture, and continuous barking can end a stay early.

Pepsi: ask for a site near the beach gate. The whole point of this park is rolling out of bed and onto the sand, and not every corner of the park is equal walking distance to it.

The vibe

It is a full-service coastal caravan park with cabins, powered sites, a camp kitchen and a pool, and it draws a mix of families and road-trippers. Paved walking paths run through the grounds, and the beachfront strip is quiet rather than a surf break.

Getting there

The park is on the Esplanade at Semaphore Park, roughly half an hour from Adelaide's CBD by car, with parking at your site or cabin. Public transport along the coast is an option for day trips into the city without the dog.
