RAC Cable Beach Holiday Park

RAC Cable Beach Holiday Park sits on Cable Beach Road West, close enough to walk to the sand for the famous sunset, with shady sites, clean amenities and direct beach access as the recurring notes in guest reviews. It is the RAC park for Broome and one of the few places in town where a travelling dog is welcome.

The pet policy is accommodation-specific: dogs are allowed on designated pet-friendly powered sites only, and they are not permitted in the park's cabins or other built accommodation. Pets must be approved as part of the booking, so add them through the guest dropdown when booking online rather than turning up with the dog. No specific size limit is published, but dogs must be kept on a lead at all times inside the park. If you need a roof over your head, this is not the park for that leg of the trip, book a site and bring the van.

Worth knowing

Cable Beach itself has strict Shire of Broome dog zones. The northern dog exercise area, from the rocks and 2km north, is off leash only between 5am and 8am and prohibited to dogs outside that window. The southern exercise area starts 450 metres south of the surf life saving club access ramp and runs towards Gantheaume Point, and your dog stays on lead down the ramp and along that first 450 metres until you cross the boundary. On all footpaths, carparks and ramps, and anywhere near the camel trains, leads apply. The walk to the beach from the park puts you on lead territory until you reach a designated zone.
