Dunsborough Lakes Holiday Resort

Dunsborough Lakes Holiday Resort is a large caravan and camping park on Commonage Road in Quindalup, a short walk from the calm water of Geographe Bay and a couple of minutes' drive from Dunsborough town. It is a campers' park where dogs are genuinely part of the setup, with big grassed sites that suit travellers with pets.

Dogs at the resort

Dogs are welcome on powered and unpowered camping and caravan sites, but the park's own booking information rules out pets inside the cabins and chalets, so this is a bring-the-tent-or-van option. The standing rules: dogs on a lead within the park at all times, never left unattended on site, cleaned up after promptly, and quiet after 11pm. Expect the usual exclusions from the pool and amenities areas. No pet surcharge is published on the standard rates, so confirm any charge when you book.

The vibe

Sites are large and grassed with shaded pergola areas and BBQs for guests, and with 210 powered sites across the park it rarely feels cramped. The park does not provide fencing on sites, so pack a crate or long line for containment. A grassed site five minutes from calm bay water is about as good as a dog-camping base gets on this coast, and ducks wandering the grounds keep the early mornings lively.

While you're out there

The Quindalup foreshore is a short walk, with dog-friendly stretches of Geographe Bay to explore under Shire of Busselton signage. Simmos Ice Creamery is close by for the post-beach stop, Commonage Coffee Co. pours on the way in from the highway, and House of Cards Wine at Yallingup makes a cellar-door outing with the dog in the outdoor area.
