Port Lincoln Tourist Park

Port Lincoln Tourist Park is a waterfront caravan park on Proper Bay, about five minutes from the centre of town. It takes caravans, motorhomes, tents and cabins, and dogs are welcome on sites and in selected cabins, which makes it a flexible base for an Eyre Peninsula trip with the dog in tow.

Dogs at the Tourist Park

Declare the dog at the time of booking. Pets are allowed on both powered and unpowered sites, and in allocated pet-friendly cabins only, so contact the park before booking to confirm a dog-friendly cabin rather than assuming any cabin qualifies. A pet fee may apply to cabin stays.

Around the park, dogs stay on lead at all times and owners clean up immediately. Dogs are not allowed in the communal facilities such as the amenities block and laundry, and guests carry the bill for any damage their dog does. Bring your own bedding and bowls for the dog rather than expecting the cabin to supply them.

The vibe

The draw is the direct water frontage: a private jetty that pulls fishing enthusiasts back year after year, a camp kitchen, clean amenities and a quiet setting out of the town traffic. Sites are a mix of gravel and grass with room for larger rigs and some drive-through options.

Pepsi: the jetty and water frontage are a big tick, but keep the lead on near the edge and around the camp kitchen, and rinse off salt and sand before heading back inside.

Getting there and out with the dog

The park is at 11-17 Lincoln Highway, easy access for big caravans and motorhomes coming in from the highway side. The coastline outside the gate suits morning walks on lead, and the town foreshore adds more of the same. For an off-leash run, Port Lincoln Dog Park is a short drive away, and Eyre Roasted handles the coffee with outdoor seating.
