Villa Villa Coola is a luxury four-bedroom beachfront house at 18 Lorikeet Drive, Peregian Beach, on the Sunshine Coast between Coolum and Noosa. The draw for dog owners is the simplest one on this coast: a private path from the back gate straight onto the sand with no roads to cross, so the morning walk is the beach itself.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, so mention your dog when you enquire rather than assuming it is automatic. Dogs are welcome inside, but the owners ask that they stay off beds and soft furnishings, and that sandy paws and fur get rinsed off outside after beach trips. Because it is a managed holiday home, confirm the current pet terms, any limits on dog numbers, and indoor rules in writing at booking, since holiday-home policies shift between seasons and managers.

The vibe

This is a large, well-appointed house rather than a beach shack: open-plan chef's kitchen, big living and dining areas, a swimming pool with a magnesium hot tub, and a rooftop deck with 360-degree ocean and mountain views. It sleeps up to six adults and four children, so it suits families or two households travelling together with dogs. Note the value is the direct beach access, not a fenced yard, so keep the lead on between the house and the sand.

Getting there and parking

Lorikeet Drive is in the beachside streets of Peregian Beach, about 15 minutes south of Noosa Heads and 20 minutes north of Maroochydore via the Sunshine Motorway. The house has private parking, and the village shops and cafes are a short walk or drive away.

Close by with the dogs

The Coolum Beach Off leash dog beach is a short drive south for a proper off-lead swim, and the Peregian Springs Fenced Dog Park is the nearest fenced option inland.
