Casa Nostra Motel

Casa Nostra Motel is a villa-style motel on Yaamba Road in Parkhurst, on Rockhampton's northern edge, and it runs one of the most clearly documented pet policies of any stay in Central Queensland, down to a scoop-and-bin rule and a swept-floor checkout.

Dogs at the Casa Nostra Motel

Dogs are welcome, up to two per room, but only in two room types: the King Villa and the Standard Two Bedroom Villa. No other animals are permitted, with the exception of certified assistance animals. A pet fee of $25 per dog per night applies, a $100 security bond is taken at check-in, and any pet damage carries a minimum $100 charge. Book those villas ahead, because nothing else in the motel takes dogs.

The on-site rules are precise. Dogs are leashed at all times outside the villa, never left unattended in the room, and kept out of the pool and BBQ areas. Bowls sit on a protective mat, dogs are cleaned and dried before entering in wet weather, waste is scooped and binned, and you sweep the room before departure, with brooms and dustpans provided. Excessive barking gets managed fast, and management can ask a disruptive pet to go. Bring your own bedding.

Worth knowing

The villas have kitchenettes, modern fit-outs and comfortable beds, and guests consistently mention the kangaroos that graze the grounds at dusk. The pool and BBQ area are guest facilities but dog-free zones, so plan dog time around them. This is a highway-edge motel, so expect some road noise rather than bush silence.

The motel sits at 1016 Yaamba Road, Parkhurst, directly on the highway at Rockhampton's northern entrance, with free off-street parking at your villa door.
