What visitors mention
Leash Free Dog Park is Berserker's dedicated off-leash spot, tucked on Charles Street a short drive from central Rockhampton. It is a straightforward, open grassy run rather than a destination park, but for locals it is the easiest place nearby to let a dog off the lead for a proper stretch.
The rules. Dogs must be under effective control at all times, even off-leash, and kept within the marked boundaries. Bring a leash to clip on for entry and exit, and bag and bin waste immediately. Council lists this as one of several off-leash areas in the region, alongside All Black Park in Koongal (fenced) and Duthie Park in Frenchville (unfenced), so those are worth knowing as backups if Charles Street is busy.
What's there. The area is an open, grassy space suited to running and fetch, with waste bins provided. Some Rockhampton off-leash areas are unfenced, so check the boundary in person before letting a nervous dog or a keen runner off the lead.
Getting there. Charles Street is easily reached from Musgrave Street or the Bruce Highway, with roadside parking nearby. Local bus routes run along Musgrave Street, a short walk from the park.
Nearby with the dogs. Central Rockhampton and the riverbank precinct, a few minutes' drive away, have a handful of dog-friendly cafes with outdoor seating, plus pet-friendly motels along the Bruce Highway corridor in North Rockhampton.

Early mornings and late afternoons on weekdays and weekends are the busiest windows, so mid-morning or early afternoon is the quieter choice if you want the space to yourselves.
