Tasman Holiday Parks - Myola

Tasman Holiday Parks - Myola is a bushland holiday park on Currambene Creek between Huskisson and Jervis Bay on the NSW South Coast, a short walk from Myola Kite Beach. It is a quiet, nature-focused park where kangaroos graze around the sites, and it runs one of the more clearly documented dog policies on this stretch of coast.

Dogs at Tasman Myola

Dogs are welcome in designated pet-friendly cabins and on caravan and camping sites. Dogs up to 10kg are accepted without extra hurdles, while dogs over 10kg need prior approval from the park before you book. A pet fee of $20 per day applies for dogs staying in cabins, and there is no additional daily charge for dogs on sites. Arrangements must be made with management before arrival rather than on the day, and dogs are generally welcomed outside peak periods, so confirm your dates and site type qualify before paying.

Rules to know

Dogs must be supervised at all times and never left alone, including inside a cabin, tent or van. A leash no longer than two metres is required whenever a dog is outside your site. Dogs are barred from the pool area, camp kitchen, playground, amenities and laundry blocks and reception, waste has to be bagged and binned immediately, and pets and their bedding cannot be washed in the park laundry, so bring your own gear. Large or aggressive dogs are not permitted, and the park's kangaroo and possum population is exactly why the wildlife rules are enforced.

The park

Accommodation spans pet-friendly cabins plus powered and unpowered sites, with free on-site parking including wheelchair-accessible bays. Fishing, swimming and slow days on Currambene Creek are the main drawcards, and the Huskisson-Myola ferry puts Huskisson's cafes and restaurants within reach without the car.

Out with the dog in Jervis Bay

The designated off-leash stretch on Huskisson Beach runs between Nowra Street and Tapalla Point, with council hours of 4pm to 8am during daylight saving and 3pm to 10am in winter; on-lead at other times. The foreshore walking track has taps to rinse sand off, and the Huskisson to Vincentia Shared Path extends the walk further along the bay. Watch signage near the creek mouth and wharf, where dogs are prohibited, and note that Booderee National Park is off limits to dogs entirely. In Huskisson itself, Portside Cafe is the coffee stop, and if the park is full, Holiday Haven Huskisson Beach is the other beachfront caravan park option.
