Long Island Retreat

The house rule that matters day to day: dogs are not permitted on the furniture, so bring your dog's own bedding and set up a corner on the tiled or timber floor. The place

Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, air conditioning, free WiFi and a fully equipped kitchen make it a genuine self-contained base for a longer stay rather than an overnight stop. The drawcard outside is the front deck with river and lake views, plus outdoor dining and a barbecue. The house sits beside Long Island Reserve, so you can walk straight from the door along the Murray, and it is roughly 10km from Riverglen Marina and about 18km from Monarto Safari Park for a day out.

Close by with the dogs

For a proper off-lead run, the Johnstone Park Fenced Dog Park and the White Park Fenced Dog Park are both a short drive into Murray Bridge, with shaded trees and dog agility gear at White Park. In town, St George's Bakehouse is the local coffee stop.
