Sunraysia Resort

Sunraysia Resort at 300 Tenth Street is a centrally located apartment resort in Mildura that does what most resort-style properties will not: it keeps a handful of genuinely dog-friendly units, several of them renovated with enclosed yards and doggy doors. For travellers crossing to or from the Murray River country with a small dog, it is a rare chance to have pools, mini golf and tennis out the front door and a secure yard for the dog.

Dogs at the resort

Small dogs are permitted in designated pet-friendly units: several fully self-contained two-bedroom apartments, a four-bedroom apartment, and a houseboat. The pet-friendly inventory is limited and cannot be booked online, so you must call or book directly with reception before arrival and lock in one of these specific units. An extra pet fee applies and is not published, so confirm the charge and the resort's current size limits when you book. The enclosed yards on the renovated pet units mean the dog has somewhere safe to be while you use the facilities.

The resort

Beyond the dog set-up, the resort runs the full Mildura leisure spread: indoor and outdoor pools, a lagoon pool and giant spa, tennis courts, mini golf, a games room and a sauna, which makes it a practical all-weather base. Tenth Street puts the Murray Riverfront, cafes and Mildura's centre within easy reach, and apartment self-catering suits longer stays with a dog.

Close by with the dogs

The Rio Vista fenced dog park is the off-leash option close to the riverfront, and the paved riverfront paths along Hugh King Drive suit a leashed walk with the dog at any hour. On the water side of Hugh King Drive, Bobby + Me is Mildura's dedicated dog cafe, with treats and a water bowl for dogs while you get coffee.
