Haythorpe Reserve

A low-cost riverfront camp that welcomes dogs. Haythorpe Reserve is a riverside campground on Hunter Road at Cowirra, directly across the Murray River from Mannum township. It is a dog-friendly, largely unpowered site with direct water frontage, best suited to self-contained setups.

The pet policy. Dogs are allowed by request, with camping fees applying. Keep dogs on a lead at all times to protect them, other campers and local wildlife. Getting there and access. From Mannum, cross the river and follow signs to Cowirra and Hunter Road, roughly a couple of kilometres and a short drive. Most vehicles manage the access, but larger buses should take care as some spots are tight.

Nearby with the dogs. The riverbank at the reserve lets dogs paddle on a hot day. The Mannum ferry carries dogs on lead across to town, where you will find riverfront paths, cafes with outdoor seating and Mary Ann Reserve.
