Merrima Court Holidays

Merrima Court Holidays is an apartment stay at Kings Beach on the Caloundra headland, close to the coastal boardwalk and an easy walk from the beach and the Esplanade cafes. It takes dogs, but under one of the clearest - and most specific - pet policies on the Sunshine Coast, so read it before you book.

Dogs at Merrima Court

The rules, consistent across the property's own listing and major booking platforms: one dog per booking, maximum 10 kilograms, in designated pet-friendly rooms only. Fees are an additional AU$50 per week plus a one-off AU$50 cleaning fee, with service animals exempt. Dogs only - no cats or other pets - and pets cannot be left unattended in the apartment at any time. Because designated rooms are limited stock, call or book direct to confirm a pet-designated unit for your dates and check your dog's weight qualifies.

The apartments

Guests rate the stay highly for cleanliness and a friendly welcome, with a pool on site and direct boardwalk access putting the water at your doorstep. It's family friendly, but the pet policy makes it a natural fit for a single small dog and its owners who want a beach-side base and accept the pet fee on top of the room rate.

Getting there and parking

Kings Beach sits at the southern end of the Sunshine Coast, about an hour's drive north of Brisbane along the Bruce Highway. On-site parking covers the apartments, and once you're in, the boardwalk means you can reach the beach, cafes and the Caloundra coastal walk on foot with the dog.

While you're out there

Coochin Park at Dicky Beach is the nearest off-leash space for a proper run, and Aurenda Coffee Co is a coffee stop in the Kings Beach strip nearby.
