Beyond the cabins, the park runs a camp kitchen, free fire pits, a jumping pillow for kids and clean amenities that regular guests rate highly. The river is close by for on-lead walks along the water.

Max: confirm the pet cabin before you drive over the bridge. Only a subset of cabins take dogs and they book out.

This suits owners with a smaller dog after a cabin base rather than campers wanting their dog loose around the whole site.

Getting there and parking

The island is reached over the bridge from Goolwa, about an hour and a quarter south of Adelaide. Parking is at your site or cabin door.

Close by with the dogs

The Goolwa Beach off-leash dog area is just across the bridge for a proper run on sand. The Islanders' Tavern on the island is a short drive for a dog-friendly meal on a deck over the water, and Discovery Parks Goolwa is an alternative pet-friendly base on the mainland side.
