Helidon Spa Eco Village

Helidon Spa Eco Village is a spring-fed caravan and camping property on the Warrego Highway in the Lockyer Valley, set on roughly 20 acres around two freshwater lakes. It runs as a hybrid village with permanent residents, seasonal workers and short-term campers side by side, and dogs are welcome for casual and short-term stays as long as you sign up to its formal pet rules.

Pets are permitted for casual and short-term stays, but this is a residential village with a registration process, not a free-and-easy holiday park. On arrival you sign a Pet Agreement that sets out the rules, including a requirement that pets are restrained at night. A cleaning fee applies to pet stays, though the amount is not published, so confirm it when booking. The park's terms also govern whether dogs may go inside specific roofed accommodation versus campsites, so check with management before assuming your preferred cabin is an option. The published rules require immediate clean-up of pet waste, and unmanaged barking or pet damage in park accommodation attracts cleaning or restoration fees charged to your account.

The place

Powered and unpowered drive-through caravan sites have sullage and vehicle parking, while lakefront tent camping puts you on grass beside the freshwater lakes with sandstone picnic tables. Amenities include a recently renovated main amenities block, a smaller unisex block for campers, self-serve laundry, and barbecue areas. The village draws fresh water from its natural spring, recycles greywater on site and runs solar power, and the lakes attract plenty of birdlife. Two practical notes for travelling dog owners: there is no dump point on site, and rates fluctuate by season and site type, so contact reception for current tariffs.

Getting there and parking

The address is 7829 Warrego Highway, Helidon Spa, about 25 minutes east of Toowoomba at the foot of the ranges. Drive-through sites mean caravans and rigs with dogs on board can come and go without tight manoeuvring.
