Murphys Creek Tavern

Murphys Creek Tavern is a family-run country pub in the Lockyer Valley, fifteen minutes west of Toowoomba down the range. It does the classics properly: cold beer, crumbed steak, daily specials and gluten-free options on request. The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor beer garden and exterior seating only; the indoor air-conditioned dining room is off limits. Your dog stays on a lead beside you and under your supervision the whole visit, which suits a well-socialised dog comfortable with kids and the usual background noise of a busy pub. Bowls appear sometimes, but the safe play is to carry your own travel bowl and a bottle of water in the car. Between trains, the pub has a regular soundtrack of passing rail traffic, so a dog who startles at loud engines may need a moment to settle.
