Walking from the door

Hackney backs onto the River Torrens Linear Park, and the River Torrens circuit on the eastern side is an easy stretch for a morning walk. The shared-use paths along the Torrens are leash territory at all times, with leashes capped at two metres, and the leash rule also applies within five metres of any playground. For a run, the Adelaide Park Lands have designated off-leash parks under effective control, and the Adelaide all-dog park is the purpose-built option in the city. One exclusion to remember: dogs are prohibited at all times inside the Adelaide Botanic Garden, which is the nearest green space of that size.
