Werri Beach Holiday Park

Werri Beach Holiday Park sits right across from Werri Beach at Gerringong, part of the Kiama Coast Holiday Parks network, about an hour and a half to two hours south of Sydney. It takes dogs on designated sites and in specific dog-friendly cabins, which puts a beach walk and an off-leash beach section within a short walk of your door.

Dogs at the Holiday Park

Dogs are welcome on selected powered and unpowered sites and in designated pet cabins, which come with fenced yards. The pet cabins carry an extra fee of around $25 per night, with a maximum of two pets. Dogs are not permitted in all park accommodation, and pets are off the menu during NSW school holidays, long weekends and public holidays, so book a pet-approved site or cabin specifically and confirm the conditions with the park when you reserve. Approval sits with management.

The rules and the beach

Inside the park, dogs must be well behaved, supervised at all times, and on a lead no longer than two metres anywhere on the grounds other than inside your own accommodation. Out front, Kiama Council's Werri Beach off-leash area runs on the sand between Miller Street and Moore Street, open sunrise to sunset, entered through the signed pathways with blue timber fencing. The Gerringong Headland dog off-leash area offers a bigger run with ocean views nearby. Check the current council signage before unclipping, since signed conditions matter and rangers do patrol.

Max: the combination of a fenced cabin yard, a two-minute walk to an off-leash beach section and a headland run up the road is rare on the South Coast. Just plan around the school holiday ban.

The place

It is a relaxed, beachfront park popular with surfers and families, walking distance to the Werri Beach break and a local playground. The vibe is cabin-and-camper rather than resort, and the draw for dog owners is the location as much as the policy.

Getting there and parking

The park is on Pacific Avenue at Werri Beach, reached via the Princes Highway off the Sydney-to-Nowra route. Parking is at your site or cabin, Gerringong village is a short walk or drive for supplies, and the headland road out to Gerroa makes an easy morning loop with the dog.

Close by with the dogs

Missi Moo and Clay Coffee Collective handle Gerringong's cafe stops, and The Hill Bar and Kitchen is the local pub option. Another pet-friendly base in the network is the Kiama Surf Beach Holiday Park.
