The vibe

The park is relaxed and rural rather than resort-style. Facilities cover the essentials well: a camp kitchen and lounge, clean modern amenities block, coin laundry, dump point, kids playground and a communal fire pit with barbecues, with fire pots on some sites. Sites are large and grassed, including ensuite options, and parking is generous for big rigs. The lake walk is the signature; keep the lead on near the water, platypus and birdlife are the point here.

Getting there and parking

Access is via sealed country roads off the Bass Highway, roughly 15 minutes from the Spirit of Tasmania terminal, which makes this a natural first or last night for ferry travellers with a dog. Devonport's supermarkets and services are all within a short drive.
