Havana Villas is a set of self-contained cottages on a quiet Emu Point street, about 200 metres from the beach, with one cottage kept aside as the dedicated pet-friendly option. It suits a couple or small family after a quiet base near the water rather than a resort-style stay.

The Oyster Cottage is the two-bedroom, self-contained pet-friendly unit, so it is the one to request, and availability is limited because it is a single cottage. The pet fee is $15 for one dog or $20 for two, and dog bedding and bowls are supplied as part of that fee. Confirm the cottage is open to pets for your dates when you book.

The place

Cottages come with fully equipped kitchens, laundry facilities and undercover parking, set on a street facing a park rather than a busy road. Emu Beach is close enough for an easy morning walk on the lead, and Bovell Square, a large oval directly across the road, gives you an open run for off-leash exercise. Local beaches in the area generally allow dogs, but check current signage for seasonal restrictions before you let yours off.

Getting there and parking

Emu Point is a short drive from central Albany, and the villas have undercover parking on site, so the arrival with a dog and the beach kit is a matter of metres from car to door.

Walk to Emu Point Cafe for a dog-friendly coffee, or book dinner at The Squid Shack on the water. Emu Beach Chalets is the other listed pet-friendly stay in the same pocket if the Oyster Cottage is taken.
