Known for. The rooftop pool and bar, the exposed-brick industrial design, and the Spice Alley dining strip next door. It's a design hotel first, so the pet program is a genuine bonus rather than the main drawcard.

When to go. Book the pet rooms well ahead, they're a small subset of the hotel's inventory and get snapped up on weekends. Good for a design-led city stay with a well-behaved, leash-trained dog rather than a boisterous puppy.
