Stayz Coorumbene

Coorumbene is a large coastal holiday house one street back from Carrickalinga Beach, set on a ridge with a wide deck that looks straight down the coastline. It sleeps up to eleven across a main house and a separate boat shed, and dogs are welcome with host approval, which makes it a solid pick for a Fleurieu group trip where nobody wants to leave the dog behind.

There is no published size or breed limit, but the property's scale means bigger dogs have plenty of room.

The one thing to plan around is fencing. The yard is not fully fenced, so a dog that wanders will need a lead or close supervision outside, particularly near the deck edges. The large grassed front garden gives dogs space to stretch their legs between beach walks. Bring your own food and water bowls, as they are not confirmed as supplied.

The vibe

The main house runs to an open plan layout with three bedrooms, reverse cycle air conditioning, a combustion heater and Wi-Fi. The separate boat shed works as a retreat with its own spa bath, joined to the main house by decking, so two families or a group travelling together get a bit of separation. The 180 degree deck is the centrepiece, with ocean views over Carrickalinga Beach.

For dogs, the appeal is simple: the beach is a street away, the lawn absorbs the zoomies, and the deck means nobody gets left inside alone.

Getting there and parking

The house sits at 8 Scenic Way, Carrickalinga, roughly an hour and fifteen minutes south of Adelaide via Main South Road. Two car spaces are on site.

While you're out there

Carrickalinga Beach is your default morning walk, with dogs on lead outside designated times. Normanville Beach a few minutes further on has off leash zones, so check the council signage before you unclip.
