Kookaburra Park

Kookaburra Park is a campground and farm stay on the Mary Valley side of the Sunshine Coast hinterland, at Cambroon between Kenilworth and Maleny. It doubles as a small animal sanctuary, which shapes the dog rules: pets are welcome across the grounds but must stay on a lead and give the resident rescue animals their space. Powered and unpowered sites, fire pits and clean amenities make it an easy base for a camping trip with the dog in tow. Dogs at Kookaburra Park

Dogs on a lead are welcome throughout the park. Two zones are off limits: the animal sanctuary and the Jurassic Trail, where rescue animals roam, so plan your walks around those areas. Owners are asked to pick up after their dog and be considerate of other guests, many of whom come for the animal encounters. The appeal here is feeding time, with deer, guinea pigs and other animals on the daily schedule, plus a fairy garden that keeps younger campers busy while the dog naps at camp.

Cambroon itself is tiny, so most of your outing options sit within a short drive.
