La Galette 2.0

La Galette 2.0 is a French creperie in the Mapleton village precinct on the Sunshine Coast hinterland, run by a Brittany native turning out buckwheat galettes, sweet crepes and pastries. The outdoor and footpath tables are where dogs are welcome, and the village setting keeps things relaxed.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor and footpath seating, settling beside your table. Water bowls are often put out, but bring your own to be safe. Order at the counter first, then take a table with room for the lead.

The vibe

The savoury buckwheat galettes are made from scratch and naturally gluten-free, and the sweet side runs to crepes, almond croissants and madeleines, with proper coffee alongside. It is a small, personal operation, and the mountain village air does the rest. Hours run Thursday to Sunday from 8am to about 2:30pm and shift seasonally, so check the socials before driving up the range.

Pepsi: make it a galette lunch, not a coffee dash. The tables are quiet on Thursday and Friday, and weekends bring the day-trippers up the range.

Getting there and parking

The address is 5/1 Post Office Road, Mapleton, roughly a half hour drive up the range from Maroochydore. Street parking is available along Post Office Road and around the village.

Make a day of it

The Mapleton Dog Park at the Lilyponds is the local off-lead spot for a run before lunch. A note for walkers: dogs are not permitted in Mapleton Falls National Park, so keep hinterland walks to the town side. If you want another feed in the village, the Mapleton Public House is the other dog-friendly option.
