Mapleton Public House

Mapleton Public House is a family-run country pub on Flaxton Drive, working a farm-to-fork menu with big views over the valley. For dog owners the draw is the deck: a large, partly covered outdoor area where dogs are welcome and where you get the outlook without giving up shelter.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome on the outdoor deck, which is fully enclosed and partly covered, so there is cover from sun or a passing shower. Water bowls are not confirmed, so bring your own to be safe. Outdoor seating is popular here, so mention you have a dog when you book.

Good to know. The kitchen leans on local produce, regenerative practice and whole-animal butchery, and the deck is the spot for the valley views. Expect regular Sunday sessions and live music, which can make the deck busy.

Getting there. The pub is at 2 Flaxton Drive, Mapleton, reached via the Nambour-Mapleton Road up from the coast. There is street parking on Flaxton Drive and nearby side streets.

Nearby with the dogs. Mapleton Lilyponds and its fenced off-leash dog park are a short trip away for a walk before or after. Note that dogs are not permitted in the nearby Mapleton Falls National Park.

Book ahead for weekend sessions and aim for a table on the covered part of the deck if the weather looks changeable.
