Getting there and out with the dog

Shirley Lane sits in central Byron, so most of town is on foot. For off-lead time, Belongil Beach South dog exercise area is the nearest zone, a flat stretch where dogs can splash west of Main Beach. The wilder option is the Tallow Beach dog exercise area at Suffolk Park. Note dogs are not permitted on Main Beach, Clarkes Beach or in the national park, so stick to the designated exercise zones.
