BIG4 Ingenia Holidays Conway Beach

BIG4 Ingenia Holidays Conway Beach fronts the tidal flats at 10 Daniels Street in Conway, about thirty minutes south of Airlie Beach, and it is the rare Whitsundays park where the dog is a straightforward yes: pets are welcome on designated sites and in select cabins, with a free treat for every dog at reception. Easy access roads off the Proserpine side make it painless for travellers towing, and stepping from your site onto the sand takes minutes.

Dogs at the park

The policy is specific. Dogs need to weigh under 15kg, with generally one dog per site or cabin, and pets must be council-registered and checked in at reception. Pet-friendly accommodation includes the Fishermans Cabin and the Standard Cabins without ensuite, and dogs are also welcome on powered and ensuite sites. A pet fee of $18 per dog per day applies. Outside your accommodation, dogs stay on a secure leash and are never left unattended, and they are barred from all communal areas and park facilities, including the pool and splash park. Disruptive or aggressive behaviour can mean immediate departure without a refund.

The setup

For the humans there is a swimming pool, splash park and jumping pillow, plus George's Diner on-site for nights you do not feel like cooking. The park's real draw is position: direct access onto the Conway Beach flats for long on-leash walks at low tide, with quiet early mornings and late afternoons the best windows, keeping clear of shorebirds on the flats. Note the beach is not an officially designated off-leash zone under Whitsunday Regional Council rules, so the lead stays on.

Getting there and parking

Ten Daniels Street sits on the coast road south of Airlie Beach, an easy run in for vans with no tight navigation, and Airlie Beach is half an hour north for supplies and the main tourist strip.

Close by with the dogs

In Cannonvale, the Cannonvale Dog Exercise Area is the designated off-leash option, and Fat Frog Beach Cafe is the dog-friendly cafe stop on the way north. At Airlie Beach, Harry's Corner Cafe and Rufus and Co. Cafe both take dogs in outdoor areas.
