The Haven at Berry

The Haven at Berry is a rural retreat on 25 acres at 51 Andersons Lane, Jaspers Brush, a few minutes south of Berry on the NSW South Coast. Dogs are allowed in two of the villas, so request one of those specifically when you book. Fees are published in the terms: $25 per night per dog with an $80 minimum, plus a $100 damage deposit payable in cash on arrival along with the pet fee. There are no stated size or breed limits, but the house rules are firm: dogs are not allowed on soft furnishings, you bring your own covers so hair stays off the bed linen, and dogs must not be left unattended unless crated. An on-site pet-sitting service at $20 an hour covers dinners out without your dog, and all mess around the property needs to be bagged and removed. The alpacas and chickens are fenced in their own paddocks, but keep your dog managed around them regardless.

This is a hosts-on-site country stay rather than a hands-off rental: spacious, comfortable villas, campfires going in the evenings and quiet bush views across the 25 acres. It suits couples or small families after a calm base with a dog, close enough to Berry for the cafes and markets but out where the nights are dark. Guest reviews sit consistently around the high 4s.

Getting there and parking

Andersons Lane runs off the Princes Highway at Jaspers Brush, about seven minutes' drive from Berry's town centre and roughly two hours from Sydney. Each villa has its own parking at the door, and Berry's cafes and shops are a short drive rather than a walk.
