Boyne River Tourist Park

Boyne River Tourist Park sits on the Bruce Highway at Benaraby, right on the bank of the Boyne River, and it makes a quiet overnight stop for travellers with dogs who are pushing on toward Gladstone or Agnes Water. Caravan, RV and tent sites take pets, with river access from the park for a walk along the water.

Dogs at the park

Dogs are welcome on the caravan, RV and tent sites, and prior notification is expected when you book. Dogs stay on a leash around the park, owners are responsible for cleaning up, and the open riverbank running alongside the property is a good reason to keep the lead on anyway. Cabin policy is where it gets less certain: the park has two-bedroom en-suite cabins and studio en-suite cabins, and whether any of them take dogs varies, so ask directly when booking and confirm whether a fee applies. There is no published pet tariff.

The vibe

The park keeps a low-key, riverside feel rather than a resort one, and reviews point at the clean ensuite amenities and clean cabins. Ensuite sites are part of the mix, which is handy if your van setup leans on its own bathroom. It suits self-contained travellers and campers more than cabin guests, simply because the dog rules are clearest on the sites.

Out with the dog
