Getting there and parking

Calliope sits on the Bruce Highway about 20 minutes south of Gladstone. Turn off at the town and Stowe Road is on the edge of the township, so you can walk into Calliope for basic supplies. It works northbound or southbound as a one-night or few-night base.

OOM Energy Calliope, the dog-friendly roadhouse restaurant on the Dawson Highway, is the easy meal stop nearby. If you are pushing on to the coast, Tannum Sands Dog Beach is about half an hour away, and Boyne River Tourist Park at Benaraby is the alternative pet-friendly stop closer to Gladstone.
