Boyne Island Caravan Park

Boyne Island Caravan Park sits at 1 Jacaranda Drive on the Boyne River, twelve acres of bushland and open camping ground about five minutes from Tannum Sands. It is a relaxed, fishing-focused park rather than a resort, and dogs are a normal part of the booking rather than a grudging exception.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome on powered and unpowered caravan and camp sites, and the park also lists selected pet friendly cabins. Tell them about your dog when you book so you are allocated an appropriate site or cabin, and expect management approval for cabin stays. Dogs stay on a lead and under control inside the park and should not be left unattended for long stretches. No fixed pet fee is published, so confirm the cost at booking, and note that the standard cabins are off limits to animals.

The vibe

The riverside position is the whole point: the Boyne River bank is right there for a lead walk, boat ramps and fishing spots are close, and the sites are spacious and mostly shaded, which matters on hot Central Queensland days. Clean amenities and a helpful office come up regularly in guest feedback. If you are after a powered site with a dog, availability is straightforward.

Getting there

Boyne Island sits about 25 minutes south of Gladstone on the Capricorn Coast side of central Queensland. The park is reached off the main road into town, with access that suits larger rigs.

While you are out there

The Tannum Sands Dog Beach is the obvious morning run, and Cafe @ One8ty Two is the local coffee stop close to the park. If the caravan sites are booked out, Discovery Parks Tannum Sands also takes dogs on designated sites, and Blend Cafe covers the Tannum side of the river.
